Community Advocacy entails the mobilisation of communities to support girls’ education and remove socio-cultural barriers that may force girls to drop out of school. In Gucuka Community in the Lubombo Region girls were dropping out of school due to the high rate of pregnancy, forced marriages and lack of value for education because there were no role model. Poverty also contributed to high dropout of girls and boys. In order to address this challenge, FAWEESWA trained Girls’ Education Advocates to motivate and encourage girls to remain in school until completion. The project is very valuable in motivating girls to take pride in going to schools and that even if they happen to be forced out, to make an effort to go back to continue their education. Parents and guardians are partners to encourage girls and boys to work hard to remain in school respecting one another.
