Education for Cancer Prevention and Treatment Project (ECPT)

An evaluation of the HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB, and Cancer project indicated that adolescent girls and boys had minimal knowledge on cancer thus the birth of the ECPT Project.

The overarching goal of the project was to strengthen and improve the uptake of quality cancer care and treatment services and promote education among young girls and boys by empowering them to make health-enhancing decisions for healthy living.

ECPT Project is an innovative model for a robust collaborative partnership between three partner organizations to leverage their respective strengths. These are the

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation Eswatini (Baylor Clinic), the Eswatini Breast & Cervical Cancer Network (EBCCN) and the Forum of African Women Educationalists in Eswatini (FAWEESWA).

The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini through the Ministry of Health is the lead Ministry in this project. The support was also through the strong networks of community-based health facilities like clinics, community health centres and Regional Health Administrators and other key stakeholders including the Tinkhundla administration, Ministry of Education, Church Forums.
