Science, Technical, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)

The purpose of the project is to get girls involved in Science, Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) to remove the outdated ideas that these subjects are for boys. STEM subjects help to pave the way for more girls in STEM fields to shape their future for innovation, creativity, and leadership.

Through a school and community based research to investigate the participation and performance of girls in Science, Mathematics and Technical subjects, FAWEESWA as a result of the findings of the research, found that girls and young women were under represented. Emanating from the findings of the research, FAWEESWA  has  implemented several very successful projects including workplace attachment/job shadowing in different industries like: Eswatini Post & Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC), Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC), Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC), Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital (RFM), Civil Aviation, Fire & Emergency, Malkerns Research Centre (Agriculture), Swaziland Fruit Canners Malkerns (Rhodes), Shiselweni Forestry Company, and Royal Eswatini Sugar (RES). This project has successfully motivated girls to pursue careers in STEM Fields locally and internationally.
